The atkins diet works by using ketosis. Ketosis is a method that the body uses to cleverly get rid of the fat that’s not needed. The fat that is stored in the body is disposed of- and when ketosis kicks in, the whole weight loss game happens faster. If you plan on following the Atkins diet then you will have to manage the amount of carbohydrates that you intake – in fact they are kept to a bare minimum, like below 40 grams. The maximum amount of carbohydrates for someone that isn’t dieting is 60 grams, so the lower you keep the carbs – the more weight you will be able to lose. Once you start to limit your carbohydrate intake, your hunger will automatically be suppressed and the once large meals that you used to be able to indulge in without issue – will start to seem very large for you to stomach. This is when you will start to see amazing results with the diet – and you will be able to look at pictures of yourself before and after the diet – and think wow !
